I hope you’re all excited for an amazing day at the conference tomorrow! If you're not attending, you can disregard this email. However, if you are attending, I highly recommend reading this message. Below are a few important details to know for the conference this week.
Parking
Please plan extra time for parking so you don’t miss your favorite session or performance! Parking in downtown Madison is at a premium, so you should allow yourself a good amount of time to find a parking spot and, if necessary, walk the remaining distance to Monona Terrace.
We HIGHLY recommend that you take advantage of the free shuttle service from the Alliant Energy Center parking lot on Thursday and Friday. This is the BEST OPTION!
To park at Alliant Energy Center, you will need to print out a parking pass. Click on the picture above or here to get the parking pass. The Alliant Energy Center is located at 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI 53713.
Four free shuttle buses will travel a continuous loop between Alliant Energy Center and Monona Terrace approximately every 30 minutes (post-concert shuttle is a 45 minute loop). Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here to see the shuttle schedule.
Pictures
We talked quickly in our Monday meeting about taking pictures during the event, and we want to bring it up again so nobody forgets!
During WMEA, you should take pictures of anything fun you do. This can be you and some friends at a lecture, something intresting you saw at the exhibit hall, or even you eating lunch! Above all else, we want to be able to have a collection of pictures to show people just how fun conference is, as well as what we've been up to as an organization.
For pictures, we have a specific spot right on our Connect2 page for you to post them. As you can see in the picture above, Once you open our organization's page on the app, it will show a button for a channel called WMEA State Conference. Click on that, and you'll be taken to a page where you can post pictures, write a message, and upload videos! Just click on the post button on the top of the screen, and add whatever you want (so long as it's appropriate, this is a professional event)!
If you're feeling extra creative, we certainly wouldn't be opposed to videos (or TikToks!) of something you did during the day! If you choose to make a video, please send it to Allison Kolimaga (our vice president) so that she can get it on our social media pages.
