We, the Muslim Student Association (MSA) strongly condemn the recent incident involving an individual singling out Muslim Women, specifically those wearing modest attire and attempting to interfere with the member's attire. This action is not only disrespectful to Muslims but also goes against personal freedom and freedom of religion the United States. The hijab is a symbol of faith, modesty and identity for Muslim Women worldwide. The Muslim Student Association stands in solidarity and calls for respect for all within our community and campus. We must create an environment of belonging where everyone feels safe and valued, regardless of their religion or beliefs.

Condemning the Unauthorized Removal of Palestinian Stickers from MSA members Vehicles

We, the Muslim Student Association (MSA) strongly condemn the recent actions of an individual who removed a Palestinian flag sticker from the vehicle of our MSA member that recently took place on July 25, 2024 in Lot 7 of the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater campus.This act is not just a removal of a sticker. it's a violation of personal property and, furthermore, an infringement on our freedom of expression in this country. No one, regardless of their beliefs has the right to remove or alter someone else's property without their consent.The Muslim Student Association stands in solidarity and calls for respect and tolerance for all viewpoints within our community and campus. University of Wisconsin - Whitewater Muslim Student Association (UWWMSA) expresses its deepest solidarity and condolences to the grieving Palestinian families and individuals in Gaza and the Occupied Territories. We affirm our unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to a free, unoccupied home. UWWMSA condemns Israel's targeted and indiscriminate killing of civilians including innocent children, women, and the elderly. Our faith commands us to engage in critical self reflection. UWWMSA urges all to stand against all attempts at normalization of the Israeli apartheid regime, both on and off-campus.
